About the Name: The ARC of Reorganization

At the heart of Adams Reorganization Consultants (ARC) is a belief that reorganization is a creative act of renewal. The name and the practice are rooted in the adaptive cycle, a framework from resilience theory that describes how complex systems - like ecosystems and organizations - naturally move through phases of growth, release, and reorganization.

At the center of the practice is the reorganization phase, where old assumptions are loosened and new possibilities emerge. In nature, this cycle supports resilience by allowing systems to adapt, evolve, and renew in the face of disruption. The same holds true for organizations in today’s dynamic environment who face continual pressures—shifting markets, changing strategies, disruptive technologies. These moments can feel like breakdown, but they are also openings for breakthrough.

That’s the arc we help navigate:

  • The move from emergence, to transition, to reorganization.

  • From disorientation, to clarity, to commitment.

  • From disruption to creative adaptation.
